Pilgrim Path

This blog is the work of a seeker and poet. Walking stick in hand, I head out into the world, not of the world, but in the world. My words and my friends carry me along and light the pilgrim path of spiritual journeys.

HIDDEN THINGS

“I will show you hidden things,
hidden things you have not known.” - Isaiah 48:6

At dawn a portal opens
revealing hidden things
to ancient eyes that wisely
choose to closely watch.

Nature dances in close step
and sings with perfect pitch
chords created before time
in simple harmony.

Wild geese on a northern wing
follow their true compass,
a map inscribed within their hearts
by One who calls them blessed.

Hidden things, freely given
revealed in simple ways
guide us on our pilgrim path
delivering us home.

Rich, your poem makes my heart sing. That is one of my favorite quotes from Isaiah. And this stanza I adore: "Wild geese on a northern wing / follow their true compass, / a map inscribed within their hearts /by One who calls them blessed." You are truly being inspired by that oppressive (oops, I mean warm) Florida sun! :-) Sanibel Island is a beautiful place.
